I am retooling a closed laundry with a focus towards residential wash and fold. Boiling down the retool to the most appropriate size of washer has been a challenge.
I am hoping to gather information from laundries that do a substantial wash and fold business and what size (cubic feet) of machine they use the majority of time.
If you give me the make and model, I can find the cubic feet. I am happy to post a compilation of replies. -

I seem to use our 20# front loaders quite often and our 40# for larger orders. The 60# ones are great for larger comforters. We would get a mix of people with tons of clothes and then the guys just passing through town for work with very small orders. Having a variety helps.

Hi Jason, yes I seem to be getting similar info from everyone. I will have between 23 and 26 machines could you give me a idea of the mix you would think best based on your experience? I know there is no way to make the perfect mix – because we don’t have or know what our WDF will be. Where are you located? How many pounds per month are you doing in WDF?
