I did a quick search of the forum and I am not sure if this has already been asked and answered. I am new to the industry and looking to purchase my first laundromat. The store that I found with the most potential currently on the market is an hour thirty to hour-forty minutes away depending on traffic.

The laundromat is unattended and the machines are about 2 years old. The machines are all coin-op which may have the potential to be transformed into card down the road.

The question for the forum is this too great of a distance to travel for an unattended store for entry into the business? How far would you travel for your laundry store?

I have a store 5 minutes away, 15 minutes away and 30 minutes away. I’m in a city so the 30 minute drive was beginning to wear on me, I did sell that location and it wasn’t because of the drive. But I will say the closer the better. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to run out my door and head over to help someone or because of an emergency of some sort.

That being said, many people are good at long distance laundromat ownership but I am not one of them. I just don’t have the right people in place to handle everything when I’m not around.
