Jordan Berry [00:00:01]:
Welcome to Laundromat News Today. I am your news anchor for today. Maybe your favorite, maybe you’re not favorite. All things Laundromat related, we’re bringing you news from around the world. We’re gonna start with a cautionary tale of a man who’s learning a 900 lesson. You got the wrong bag of laundry and ended up losing a lawsuit. So just, you know, wanted to bring this up just to highlight. Hey, if you’re doing a drop off business or a pickup and delivery business, you know, pay extra close attention to who’s getting what laundry.

Jordan Berry [00:00:39]:
Ended up being a little bit of a hefty fine there for this guy who picked up the wrong bag of laundry and accidentally I, well, I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt, say accidentally took the wrong laundry home. All right, moving on. Our friend, you may have seen his stuff all over the Internet. He is, I believe, the OG coin collector on social media when it comes to laundromats. Brandon Schlichter from Investment Joy has made the news as he’s sharing how he bought a laundromat for $15,000 and shares how much money it made him in three days. He’s been doing this for a few years now and crushing it over there. So, so congrats to Brandon not only for snagging a $15,000 laundromat and be able to being able to create content with it, but also for making the news while doing it. So awesome stuff.

Jordan Berry [00:01:33]:
We gotta head down under. We’re going international right now. Heading down under and once again, alliance back in the news. They are Alliance. You might know them from speed queen and hips machines, most famously also primus and ipso, I believe. But they are making a push down under in Australia for laundromat investment and they are touting the benefits of laundromats and also trying to help project laundromats out into the future and saying, hey, we’re not just Coinbase stores anymore. We’ve got a lot of other options. We’ve got a lot of things going for us over here as an investment class.

Jordan Berry [00:02:14]:
So they’re making a push over there and keeping it in Australia. Keeping it down under. We’ve got a laundromat that is in Carlton. I, I can’t. Let me see. Oh, yeah, Soap Spot. It’s called Soap Spot in Carlton. Down there in Victoria.

Jordan Berry [00:02:35]:
Victoria, Australia, that is serving stuffed pizza and tarts anon sweets at their laundromat. We’ve had multiple things. We had junior who’s Coming up on the podcast by the way. Definitely check that one out. Who is got laundries and latte. We’ve had some pizza joints, we’ve had some cafes and laundromats. There’s a been a Cuban food award winning Cuban food in Miami and laundromat and now we’ve got stuffed pizzas and tarts, anon sweets in a, an Australian Carlton, Australia laundromat here. Listen, there is no limit.

Jordan Berry [00:03:22]:
Your imagination is the only limit to what you can do with your laundromat. Okay, that’s, that’s the point I want to make here is you can do all kinds of things with this laundromat including stuffed pizza. I don’t know how it’s different from like a calzone here in America, but maybe that’s. Or a hot pocket, maybe it’s basically hot pockets and hearts and on happening over here. But you’re only limited by your own creativity. So don’t, you know, listen, don’t get stifled in just doing the same old thing all the time. Find your own niche, find your own thing. Build a brand around it.

Jordan Berry [00:03:58]:
Maybe you can be on the news one of these days as well. Okay, I just mentioned Junior who is about to be on the podcast here. Let’s talk about another upcoming podcast guest who is back in the news again for the second week in a row. We’ve got Sophie swiftfold, the Dinah robot who’s folding clothes in Sacramento at Monster Laundry. You’re going to hear more about that here in a couple of weeks on the podcast. But listen, a lot of us saw this folding robots happening at the Clean show a few, a few weeks ago now, maybe a month or so ago. And these are already in at least one laundromat here doing actual work. We got to pay attention to this stuff.

Jordan Berry [00:04:47]:
This is the kind of stuff that is happening all around us right now. And listen, I don’t know if this is going to be a thing that’s going to stick or not, but regardless, we’ve got to be paying attention to the changes happening. This is not just the front of the wave of technology for our industry. This is us pushing up into the front of the wave of technology in general, which is a, I would say a novelty for us for a long time at least. And we’ve got a chance to be a part of the front wave here of technology and what’s happening. So be paying attention to, to this story as it kind of unfolds and, and probably new stories as more people try this new technology. Out. It’s really interesting.

Jordan Berry [00:05:37]:
And while we’re sticking on the topic of podcast guests, we have got to go to one of our favorite couples podcast guests, Nick and Sarah Mackin over there, who’ve got a free laundry day coming up. Making the news, making a difference out there in Newberry, South Carolina. Listen, fish. Free laundry day. Incredible way to give back to the community. And when we say free laundry day, that might mean you donate laundry for a day or something like that. That might mean you partner with a nonprofit or a company and they pay for laundry for people for a day. There’s lots of different ways to skin this cat to use a terrible.

Jordan Berry [00:06:19]:
What is that? An idiom. Terrible idiom. But there’s lots of different ways to do that and look for ways to give back. Congrats to Nick and Sarah Mackin for doing it. Can’t wait to hear how that free laundry day goes. And let’s wrap this up with probably the best news here is that we’ve got two industry events. One is coming up like next week and one is coming up in a little over little under two months. Event number one coming up next week is a laundry CEO forum that’s happening in Dallas.

Jordan Berry [00:06:58]:
That’s October 5th to 7th in Dallas. Waleed Cope, who was just on the podcast, another podcast guest. I think the moral of this news episode here is that if you come on the podcast, you’re probably just going to get famous. So hit me up jordanlaunmatresource.com if you want to come be on the podcast. We’re always looking for people to talk to about their experience in the business. But anyways, going Back to laundry CEO form coming up October 5th, the 7th in Dallas. Well, Lead Cope is putting it on. Not to be missed.

Jordan Berry [00:07:30]:
It’s not too late to sign up, I don’t think so. Go book your seat today@laundry CEO.com and in November, November 21st to 24th, November 21st, 24th, 2025, come hang out with me and Ryan Borneman from Fresh Leads Marketing, another former podcast guest. We’re throwing out, throwing on the Laundromat accelerator Hawaii, where we get in a small group of people together and we are going to dig deep into your business. We’ve got Amanda Barkey, who was just on the podcast episode this week. God, there’s like a theme happening right now. Who’s gonna be there? She’s an EOS implementer, helping you some structure around your business, helping you turn your business into a company. And the best way to scale is by getting the right operations in place, which we’re going to talk about by getting the right marketing in place, which Ryan’s going to talk about, and by getting the right systems in place, which is what Amanda is going to talk about, we’ve got an all star lineup going and we’ve got all of that happening in one of the most beautiful places on the planet. It’s all right offable on your taxes and we’re going to do a ton of fun stuff as well.

Jordan Berry [00:08:58]:
So check out laundromatresource.com Hawaii not to be missed. If you want to get in the room with some people who are serious about laundromats, who are thinking about the same things you’re thinking about, who are going the same places that you’re going with their businesses. And we want to give everybody an opportunity to level up their businesses. That’s what lawnm Accelerator Hawaii is all about, some personalized attention. It’s not going to be a big room with people speaking up front. There will be some speaking, but it’s going to be action based. That’s what I’m most excited about. That and hanging out on the beach with you guys, doing some fun Hawaii stuff as well.

Jordan Berry [00:09:37]:
So automatic accelerator Hawaii. Check out lresource.com hawaii and listen, just join us, okay? Just join us. It’s going to be great.
