Jordan Berry [00:00:01]:
Welcome to Laundromat News Today. I am your news anchor. That’s right, Jordan Berry. And I am here to bring you the news from all over the world, really all things laundromat related. And we’re going to kick it off today with I want to just highlight AmericanCoin. Op.com has a four part series talking about ensuring laundromats. I think it’s an under discussed topic and as many of you already know, insuring anything right now, including laundromats is getting more expensive, more complicated and there is less and less options actually. So maybe we’re checking out this article.
Jordan Berry [00:00:40]:
I will say that it is an interview with a few different people in the insurance agency. So there’s some good information in there too. However, there are some, some of these people who I think have been around the industry in a long time and have a a little bit dated sense of the industry. So just take it for what it’s worth. But there’s some great information on ensuring the laundromats in there. I’ll highlight the article we’re going to link in the newsletter this week is actually part three of this series and one thing I thought was pretty interesting is there’s a question on electronic data gathering playing a bigger, bigger role in small businesses including laundromats by the way. And if you missed it, we just did a live discussion with rick Rome on AI laundromats that’s on the YouTube channel. You can check that out over there if you want to.
Jordan Berry [00:01:32]:
But they kind of commented on that when it comes to insurance and that’s where I think you’ll see one or two of these guys have some dated thoughts on that. But overall there’s some good stuff in there. Insurance. What a way to kick off the news today. Another piece of news I just wanted to kind of highlight is a, A partners. I believe it’s A partners. Let me make sure this is a part. Yeah, partnership.
Jordan Berry [00:02:01]:
They call it partnering partnership between Pay Range and CSC Service Works. And Pay Range is going to be installing their apps in some of CSE Service Works laundry facilities. So. Or the ones that they’re operating. So big news there where a couple of companies are partnering together. Working together. News out of Wisconsin where a, a pickup and delivery truck picking up laundry actually tipped over on the freeway and it stopped. I guess freeways, I think you have freeways in Wisconsin stop traffic for a while.
Jordan Berry [00:02:44]:
And the interviewing the people who were behind that truck, the news reporter said what was, what did, what did you see? And they said, well, when the truck tipped over the laundry spilled out and we watched it all unfold. Get it? Watched it all unfold. The laundry. Okay, that didn’t really happen. I made it up. It was my attempt at a joke for Patrick specifically. Hope you enjoyed it. Patrick, the Laundromat girl from Tick Tock is in the news again claiming she now makes three times as much as she used to working as a nurse.
Jordan Berry [00:03:25]:
I’m not sure how much of that is from her Laundromat and how much of that is from her TikTok in but either way she’s killing it doing awesome stuff with her business and for the industry. So keep killing it. Laundromat girl on TikTok and hey, let’s do a podcast together if you’re listening. Also wanted to highlight buddy of mine who’s been on the podcast a couple times, Alex Schmerczak who has been been in the industry and has sort of merged into working with Franzi and co founding I think Franzi, which is franchise based business. But he was highlighted in his start of starting the franchise to you laundry and laundry lab and it’s his journey of building a multi million dollar laundry business. So pretty cool. I thought I’d highlight it. We’ll put the article in the newsletter there.
Jordan Berry [00:04:20]:
Make sure you subscribe so you can get the link to go check out Alex story over there and also check out his podcast interviews that he’s been on as well. And lastly, this is not really news but wanted to include an article on msn.com of 12 things that this author and her family and friends did while at the Laundromat to make things go faster without a single smartphone. Some funny and interesting ideas in there. I thought it might give you some ideas of how to connect with your customers a little bit better. Listen, that’s it for Laundromat news today. News from around the world all the time. So we’ll see you next week with the latest and greatest in the industry. This.
