I’ve never rented a boat before and want to try it out this summer. What do I need to know before booking? Are there any good marinas around Central Texas that cater to first-timers?

I was in your shoes last year! What helped me was renting from Bluff Creek Marina — their website clearly explains the safety rules, and before you go out on the water, they give you a detailed safety briefing. The staff patiently answer all questions, which made me feel way more confident.

Don’t worry too much! Just be sure to listen carefully during the safety overview and ask about any concerns. The marina staff really want you to have a fun but safe experience. Starting at a calm lake like Whitney is ideal for beginners.
