For those who recently switched to a 5G plan, have you noticed a big difference in everyday use? Is it worth upgrading if you’re not in a major city, or does 4G still get the job done?

5G has been a bit hit or miss for me. In the city center, speeds are awesome, but once you head out to the suburbs or rural spots, it still falls back to 4G a lot. If you’re not constantly chasing the latest tech, it might not be necessary yet.

I made the jump to 5G with Verizon last fall, mostly because my old phone finally gave out. The speeds in downtown are crazy fast, but as soon as I leave the city, I’m back on 4G more often than not. For most day-to-day stuff, email, maps, social media, 4G honestly still works just fine. I did poke around the Verizon Wireless customer service pages before upgrading, just to make sure there were no surprises with my plan or device compatibility.
