With most devices now offering built-in security, do you still invest in third-party antivirus software? If so, which one and has it actually saved you from anything major?

I used to skip antivirus completely, but after a sketchy download nuked my laptop, I changed my mind fast. Now I run lightweight software just for peace of mind. Built-in protection is better than before, but if you’re clicking links all day, an extra layer never hurts.

I’ve been using Total AV for a couple of years now as a backup to built-in security on my laptop. I did a lot of research before picking one, and reading through some threads about Total AV customer service, helped set expectations. Overall, the software has been solid, lightweight, easy to use, and it runs scans without slowing everything down. I haven’t had any major virus threats, but it’s flagged a few sketchy downloads and browser hijackers.
